Measure Your Ring Size at Home

Method 1: Use String or a Paper Strip

  1. Prepare a thin, flexible piece of string or paper.
  2. Wrap it around the widest part of the finger, usually the knuckle.
  3. Mark the point where the ends meet.
  4. Lay it flat and measure the length in millimeters.
  5. Find the closest circumference in the chart above.

Method 2: Measure an Existing Ring

  1. Choose a ring that fits the intended finger well.
  2. Measure its inside diameter with a ruler.
  3. Find the closest inside diameter in the chart above.

Tips for an Accurate Measurement

  • Time of day — Measure in the late afternoon, when fingers are typically slightly larger.
  • Temperature — Avoid measuring when your hands are unusually cold or hot.
  • Repeat — Measure two or three times on different days and use the most consistent result.
  • Band width — Wider bands of 6mm or more may feel more comfortable a half to one size larger.
  • Left vs. right hand — Measure the exact finger where you plan to wear the ring.
